Beans Shot During Robbery!

Beanie Sigel was shot during a robbery gone bad in Philadelphia, PA yesterday (May 25). Reporters say that Beans was shot during a sham robery and hit in his upper arm. The shooting took place yesterday morning around 8:00 am. After the incident Beans drove himself to the hospital where he is presently being treated.

Beans told authorities that five black men in two cars boxed him in; a 30 something year old around 5'11" with a beard, wearing jeans and Tims shot him twice in the arm. Beans described one of the cars as a dark coloured vehicle with tinted windows.

We hope you get well soon... Be easy, we need more albums from you brother!

Remy Ma, going once, going twice...

This one is pretty funny, I had to write something about it. It seems that the infamous "Queen of New York", Remy Ma is up for grabs. She explained during a Power 105.1 interview earlier this week. that she was ready to leave Terror Squad. She stated "OH, Yeah... That's right, I'm for sale so if n***** got that guap...holla at me."
Well for whatever reasons seems like Remy is on her way out the Terror Squad. Depsite all of the rumors as to why she is leaving, I think the only thing we are all left wondering is "WHO KNOWS" ?

Wishing you all the best Remy, with or without Terror Squad. Keep it Real !!!

"Hip Hop Is Dead" says Nas

As you all know by now, Nas is in the studio working on his upcoming album, due out in September. It seems the album will be titled "Hip Hop Is Dead... The N." , the letter at the end is to be a play of words on "the end". Although, he hasn't spoken much on the title itself, in an MTV interview Nas explains that it is simply a play on words. He goes further by explaining that "Fans named it that, rappers named it that, it's been the talk for years, so here's an album that brings... not even the rebirth, it's just an album with that thing that everyone is talkign about. I got a street look coming real soon, and more soon after. Summertime is definitly going to be Nas time"

He is right in a sense, "The Death Of HipHop" has been something that people have been talking about for a while now. It seems to be a common feeling amongst veteran rappers: Busta, Ghost and now Nas. Can't wait to see what Nas has cooking up for us on "Hip Hop is Dead...The N", we'll keep you posted.

The Roots hit us off with their new single

Earlier this week, The Roots have given us a taste of their first single off "Game Theory", their Def Jam debut album.

The single is titled "Don't Feel Right" and it features an appearance by Maimouna "Lunar Exlipse" Youssef. This will be The Roots eight studio album and to kick things off they will be celebrating tonight and tomorrow night in NYC, many other artists will be there as well to lend their support: Nas, Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, just to name a few. Not only will The Roots be performing with some of these artists, they will also perform older material from previous albums and new songs from "Game Theory", which is due out later this summer.

The Roots have also decided to donate part of the proceeds from the party to the family of J Dilla.

Mariah VS.Christina Aguilera?

Ok- I know this headline makes you think there's about to be a girl fight. Take it easy, ain't nobody fighting. YET !

In the June issue of GQ magazine, Christina Aguilera was featured in an interview, during which Christina was asked about Mariah, when she responded: "She was never cool to me. To the point that one time we were at a party and I think she got really drunk, and she had just really derogatory things to say to me in front of... But it was at that time that she had that breakdown, so she might have been very medicated."

In response to the GQ interview, Carey and her manager, Benny Medina, e-mailed US Weekly with the following statement:

"I had hoped that Christina was in a better place now than the last time I saw her, when she showed up uninvited at one of my parties and displayed questionable behavior. It is sad yet unpredictable that she would use my name to reinvent past incidents for her promotional gain. It is in my heart to forgive, and I will keep her in my prayers."

Once again, I am not sure who is right and who is wrong in this situation. Unfortunately we weren't there to witness all of this "unpredictable" behavior. Wish I was though, bet it was pretty funny...

Just thought I would share with ya'll.

Trouble ahead for Ludacris and Kanye West involving their song sampling

May 22nd, Kanye West and Ludacris will be appearing in court as they have been charge for a copyright infringement lawsuit. It appears that a group titled I.O.F from New Jersey, is claiming that Luda and Kanye stole the chorus from their song "Straight Like That" for Luda's "Stand Up". In July of last year, a New York Federal Judge denied Ludacris and Kanye's motion to have the case dismissed, which forced them to stand trial. At this time it seems they are being sued for $10 million in damages.

The suit was initially filed in 2004 and is still continuing in 2006 ! Well, well... Who knows if this is true or not. Seems to me like we won't really know. So many allegations these days against copyright infringement.

Will keep you posted... Moral of the story- if you are a producer. CLEAR YOUR SAMPLES, SAVE YOUR TEARS AND MONEY !
