Rumor: Dre's daughter is rappin' ?

The new trend is going to be kids of rappers getting their own careers in rap, singing (R&B) and performing. I heard that Dr. Dre has a daughter that is about to drop a CD called Living In Daddy's Shadow. Dre already has a son and we do know for a fact that he's already doing his thing performing. Like father, like son, can we say now, like daughter like father.

Rumors : 50 Cent publishes Nas's baby mom's book ? WORD ?!

50 CENT TAKES RAP BATTLES TO THE NEXT, NEXT LEVEL?
The word on the block is that Nas baby mother Carmen has going around to several publishers, trying to get her book out there. It seems she has decided on 50 Cent and his G-Unit publishing deal through MTV Books. That is right ! 50 Cent will publish the exploits of Nas ex and her fling with Jay Z!

Michael Jackson and 50 Cent collabo ?

Micheal Jackson may be "broke phi broke" after paying his emplyees back wages and various fees to the government. Rumor has it that, G-Unit's Dj Whoo Kid recently kicked it with Jackson in Bahrain to discuss possibly doing a duet between both superstars. Whoo Kid even gave Jackson a tape of the proposed track so that the singer could take it in before making a last decision.

That's gonna be something worth hearing if it ever does happen ! Wonder how Gangsta MJ can really get?

Christina Milian VS. Nick Cannon Feud Appears on her new track

Ex lovers Christina Milian and Nick Cannon, have a bit of feud between them. It seems Christina Milian has written a track about the singer/actor/ producer on her upcoming album "So Amazin'". The track is titled "Who's gonna Ride" and mentions details of their on-and-off again relationship that began on the set of their 2003 film “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” and ended last summer. I know a lot of you guys out there are glad that relationship is over. HA !

It is rumored that the two of them split when Christina ended the retaltionship. She apparently broke into Nick's T-Mobile account and found flirtatious emails from other women to Nick.
Christina is now reportedly dating Dre of the production duo Cool & Dre.

Still waiting to hear that track, I wanna know what Christina's gotta say about Nick. We'll keep you posted !

J Dilla lives on ...

J Dilla released two albums before his death February 10th- and the second, Donuts just hit stores February 7th. Nonetheless plenty more is expected from the unsung hip-hop producer and rapper including at least two more albums this year.

The first posthumous release from J Dilla is due July 11th and will feature a mix of big names (Busta Rhymes and Common) and underground legends (Madlib and Pharoahe Monch).

Jay orginally titled the album The Shining to coincide with its creepy orginal release date June 6 (6/6/06), his family and friends still felt the title was still fitting even after the release date for the album has been pushed back.

Jay was recording The Shining while in the hospital and was 85 % done when he passed away.
The album The Shining will be accompanied by a DVD that will chronicle J Dilla's life. The team behind the online community Okayplayer are producing the documentary.

Dilla's mother , Maureen Yancey is also working on opening up Jay's studio as a public workshop and plans to minue his vaults for furher releases.

-Although J Dilla is not a Universal Artist we still felt the need to keep his memory alive, as his lost is felt throughout the music industry.

RIP J DILLA

Freeway- speaks on his future projects !!!

Last week we told you about Freeway and 50 Cent collaborating, and now comes word that the Philadelphia MC will also be appearing on albums by Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. "I was just in the studio last night with Yayo and he let me hear about eight new songs," Free said. "He's got some sh--!" Free said he's been cool with 50 for a long time but never expected him to be so involved in his album. "I was just chillin' and he called me and said, 'You my n---a, I want to make sure your sh-- get done. Anything I can do with your project, it's done, 100 percent.' " Free said Fif's involvement in his album is similar to Fif's involvement in the Mobb Deep projects. He picks some beats and helps out on some choruses. "I got him and Jay-Z giving me input. I'm about to go in with big homie probably this week," he said. "Basically I'm doing me, but they giving me input on sh-- and we doing a couple of joints together. It's going to be crazy, though. It's coming out in July." Freeway said his album will still be called Free at Last, but he's scratched most of the songs he's planned on using because it was supposed to come out July 4, 2005. Out of the new material he's recorded, of course, 50 is on the album as is Black Thought from the Roots, Scarface, Young Buck and Lil Scrappy. Free is also dropping a mixtape with DJ Whoo Kid on which he raps over beats like T.I.'s "What You Know"; it'll also include some of the scrapped records from the original version of Free at Last.

N.O.R.E. -Reggaeton album?

Ya'll remember a few years back when N.O.R.E. shocked us all, when he dropped the smash "Oye Mi Canto", just in time for New York's Puerto Rican Day Parade. This year he wants to make even more noise ! His long awaited reggaeton album, now titled "N.O.R.E y la Familia", will be released just a couple of weeks before this year's Puerto Rican Day parade. June 11th. should be the release date. N.O.R.E. said the LP will feature a lot of big reggaeton names: Luny Tunes, Daddy Yankee, Ivy Queen and Don Omar. Omar and Diddy will be on the album's first singles, which is still without a title. Diddy apparently brushes up on his spanish in the track.

Can't wait to hear that !

Shawnna back with a second LP in June !

Shawnna has been getting ready to come back out again. Her second LP, titled "Chicago", is due out in June. Didn't Shawnna just put out a record? Let's hope this one is the one that will show us her lyrical skills, without being an album overcrowded with collabos.
Shawna praises the work of Remy Ma and says "That's my Boo, she's real nice on the mic. Remy and I are becoming the best of friends. We have similar stories, similar struggles. It's great for us to be friends and relate to each other right now, rather than be in a battling situation where everythign is a competition. It's comfortable for us right now to have each other to fall back on."

That being said, we'll have to wait until June for the release of Shawnna's "Chicago" to see if she can bring the heat as much as Remy on "There's Something About Remy".

RUMOR MILL- FABOLOUS JOINS DEF JAM ROSTER

Seems the rumor mill is running. This time pointing towards Fabolous. Word on the street is Jay-Z is considering signing Fabolous to Def Jam and is very close to closing the deal. Atlantic has not confirmed the deal nor has Def Jam, at this time this news still remains a rumor.

How wierd would that be though? In the meantime however,Fabolous has released a mixtape titled "Loso's Way Rise To Power" where he spits hard against rival Mase. Though the two have been going back and forth on wax throwing subliminal jabs at each other, Fab gives it to Mase on the track "Murda(We Don't Believe You)".

We'll have to wait and see if the G-Unit recruit has a response....

MARIAH CAREY LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE.

"SAY SOMETHIN'" FEATURING SNOOP DOGG, PRODUCED BY THE NEPTUNES, GOES TO TOP 40 radio - VIDEO SHOT ON LOCATION IN PARIS, STARRING MARIAH, PHARRELL AND SNOOP, DIRECTED BY PAUL HUNTER

Mariah is top female winner at Soul Train Music Awards - Best R&B/Soul Single, Female ("We Belong Together") and Best R&B/Soul Album, Female (Mimi) - adding to multiple Grammys, Radio Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, VIBEs, and AMAs

(March 14, 2006 - New York, NY) With three consecutive #1 airplay hits under its belt ("We Belong Together," "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us"), performer and songwriter Mariah Carey's 6x-platinum Island Records album The Emancipation Of Mimi, the biggest-selling album in the US for 2005, will launch a new single at radio - "Say Somethin'" featuring Snoop Dogg.

The electrifying new video for "Say Somethin'" was shot on location in the high-fashion world of Paris last week with acclaimed director Paul Hunter, co-starring Pharrell Williams (of the Neptunes) and Snoop Dogg. The beautiful and cinematic performance piece follows Mariah, as an international movie star, around Paris in Pharrell's Maserati with paparazzi following them everywhere. Dressed from head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton, they stroll down the Champs-Elysées, stop on the scenic bridge Le Pont de Paris overlooking the River Seine, and chill in Pharrell's luxurious Parisian apartment. The day culminates in high style, as Pharrell makes every woman's fantasy come true by closing the newly designed Louis Vuitton store on the Champs-Elysées, setting the stage for their own private shopping spree. Fireworks fly on the streets of the City Of Lights as Mariah once again collaborates with Hunter, who directed the video for her 17th #1 career hit single, "Don't Forget About Us."

In the US, "Say Somethin'" will impact both Top 40 and Rhythmic radio, and "Fly Like A Bird", the Gospel-drenched song that stirred the emotions of Grammy viewers worldwide last month, will impact Urban radio simultaneously on April 3.

Meanwhile, Mariah's fans are still celebrating her victory at last weekend's 20th annual Soul Train Music Awards, where she was the top female winner taking home trophies for Best R&B/Soul Single, Female (for "We Belong Together") and Best R&B/Soul Album, Female (for The Emancipation Of Mimi). The 2006 Awards spectacular was videotaped at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 4th, and will air in Tribune syndication over the course of this month. (Please check local listings for dates and channels.)

The two Soul Train Music Awards cap an extraordinary season of awards for Mariah, which began in November with the 3rd annual VIBE Awards (on UPN) where four wins were generated by Mimi: Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year, R&B Voice Of The Year, and Best R&B Song for "We Belong Together." A week later at the 33rd annual American Music Awards, Mariah was voted Favorite Soul/Rhythm & Blues Female Artist.

Into December at the 2005 Billboard Music Awards, Mariah was named Top R&B Singles Artist-Female, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist-Female, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Artist-Female, and Top Overall Albums Artist-Female, with "We Belong Together" named the #1 Hot 100 Single Of the Year. At the annual Radio Music Awards (live on NBC from Las Vegas), Mariah was honored with the Legend Award and was named Artist of the Year/Urban and Rhythmic Radio, in addition to "We Belong Together" winning both Song of the Year/ Main Stream Hit Radio and Song of the Year/Urban and Rhythmic Radio. The shower of awards continued at the Grammys in February, as Mariah was honored for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for "We Belong Together," and Best Contemporary R&B Album for The Emancipation Of Mimi.

Mimi generated an all-time career-high 8 Grammy nominations for Mariah. The album includes Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles, "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget About Us," respectively - which tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 47 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to match or surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. In its 47th week on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, The Emancipation Of Mimi has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide, bringing Mariah's career sales over 160 million units worldwide.
