Newest G-Unit Member?!

Philly based rapper Freeway, formally of State Property, has become an official member of 50 Cent's supper group G-Unit and is currently working hard on his third album titled Free at Last. The album's executive producer credit will be split between 50 and Def Jam president Jay-Z; which will be released under Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam.

"Me, Jay and 50 are working hard on the album together," Freeway said to Allhiphop.com during a statement. "I got mad love for 50. What people don't know is that we have been tight for a while. Our first album both came out in the same month, and we did a lot of shows and other things together back then."

The album is going to feature G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Young Buck, Philly's own Beans and the legendary Black Thought from The Roots, Nate Dogg and Grammy winners Mariah Carey and Kanye West. Production will include West, Just Blaze, Scott Storch, Dangerous LLC and Needlz to name a few. The album is tentatively due in May.

Freeway added "I'm just very excited about my new album and also to help the unity in hip-hop and prove that young black successful people can work together in this game. It's gonna be big for the east coast. We need something like this."

It's a good look Free...

Mos Def got mos greif!!

On Feb. 14 2006 Mos Def was brought to court by his devorced wife, Maria Yapes-Smith; over child support payments.

Mos Def (Dante Smith), was ordered to pay a whopping $10,000 a month to support their 7 and 8 year-old daughters. Mos Def was paying roughly $8,000 a month since the order has been issued, but said he also has obligations to his three other children and other business issues which has prevented him from paying what the court had ordered.

Mos Def also stated that the payments should be reduced due to his wife, Yapes-Smith not following agreement that the children have home schooling.

"I'm the only person who's providing for my children," Mos Def told Judge Sarah Krauss.

Yapes-Smith's lawyer Karen Blaustein cited a commercial for Mos Def's new movie 16 Blocks, comming out next month.

"I've been seeing him in these commercials with Bruce Willis for his new movie," Blaustein told The New York Post after the hearing. "I'm sure he made enough money to pay his child support for his 7 and 8 year-old daughters."

Just for the record Mos, I mos def think thats a rediculus amout of money to be paying for your childrens living costs! I don't even get paid 10 G's a month for my work, and I'm able to support myself and my fam too. I see now... mo money, mo problems.

Hold your head man...

New G-Unit Lady?

So, here is the low down on what's going on in G-Unit world... Rumors are swarming around that G-Unit has their sights set on Keysha Cole! The singer and her camp have not confirmed any of the reports, but Vibe.com is confident that Cole will be leaving her lable to join G-Unit.

In a recent interview, Cole put a stop to the rumos that she would be leaving her current home at A&M Records; however Cole did say she would leave if the money was right!

I guess we'll see if money really talks!
Be on the look-out for info about this...

Busta, What it is?

Seems police and prosecutors are threatning to place Busta Rhymes in front of the grand jury as a response to his lack of cooperation, regarding the shooting during the production of his video "Touch It" remix. Busta's bodyguard Israel Ramirez was shot down at Brooklyn's Kiss the Catcus production studio February 5th and investigation has been stalled due to lack of witness cooperation.

It is said that Tony Yayo's argument with Swizz Beatz is believed to have initiated the shooting, he also remains silent. Apparently, Yayo left the scene with the shooter. He has since acquired an attorney and hasn't said a word.

NYPD is at wits end as no one has volunteered any information, even though there were close to 50 people on the scene of the homocide. Authorities believe that Busta was standing just feet away from Ramirez when the shooting occured, yet still no word from Busta. The grand jury could force Busta and other witnesses to share what they know or face prison time. Ramirez's family is pleading with Busta to cooperate with authorities.

Meanwhile, more and more hip-hop artists and activits are speaking against Busta's lack of cooperation. The James E. Davis - Stop The Violence Foundation- is the latest group trying to get Busta to talk. Davis has stated that the organization will boycott Busta's music and bash him on NY's Hot 97 next Sunday.

Interscope Stops the "Stop Snitchin" DVD

As you all know, the Game released a DVD "Stop Snitchin', Stop Lyin'" mocking 50's "Get Rich or Die Tryin'". This DVD is an in depth look at the feud between 50 & Game.
It seemed like a money maker for Game until the man (Interscope) shut that shit down. The reasoning behind the ban is because appearently Game is doin some shit he isn't supposed to be doing! They say he was stealing a basketball rim from 50's back yard! 50 has not filed any lawsuits, some believe the law could get involved if the DVD were to hit the streets!!!
Stay tuned for more info...

MOP says FUCK Roc-a-Fella!

I read in a recent interview with urbansmarts.com MOP sharing their point of view on the Roc and G-Unit, not signing with Def Jam, and why there was no ROC album.

The transition from The Roc to G-Unit:
"They had an internal situation. We were set to put an album out there- big shout out to Damon Dash, by the way- but they had their problems, they had their issues, so they went their seperate ways. We was pretty much sittin' right inthe middle. Fitty put the call in and he wanted to do business. So we came over and hung out with Fitty."

Why they didn't put an album out on Roc-A-Fella Records:
"We Turned the album in, of course! They never put the album out. They weren't ready to."

When told that Dame stated in a past interview they never turned in any music, things got heated:
"Oh!? He said there was no music to put out? (gets upset) Okay, so the next time you talk to Dame, you tell him, that I said, we did give him an album. Tell him Billy said he did give you an album and you didn't put it out. So... as far as ready... MOP music is always ready!! You know what I mean? Any artist you bring to me or Mr. Damon Dash bring to me, we'll chew right through they ass. Just like before. Now take my shout out back that I gave to Damon Dash, because that was some underhanded shit and I don't fuck with underhanded niggas. We will never talk about Roc-a-Fella again. Don't ask no more questions about Damon Dash or Jay-Z. Fuck Roc-a-Fella. Yeah, pretty much fuck em!! Whatever they had going on, we still gave them props and we never was disrespectful to 'em and nothing like that. But fuck 'em!"
